RESOURCES
Our homeless shelter offers a temporary home for those who are serious about rebuilding their lives.
There is no fixed length of stay — as long as our guests are making meaningful progress, we are here to support them.
EMMAUS HOUSE REQUIRES ALL HOUSE GUESTS TO COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK
at the local police department using a valid photo ID.
WE ASK THAT EACH RESIDENT ACTIVELY SEEK AND SECURE EMPLOYMENT
applying to at least four jobs each weekday.
FOR MANY, EMMAUS HOUSE IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD INDEPENDENCE, STABILITY, AND A FRESH START.
We travel alongside them on their spiritual journey, helping them discover — or rediscover — a path to God.
Our food pantry provides groceries twice a week to food-insecure individuals and families in need
FOOD BOXES ARE DISTRIBUTED EVERY WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY DURING THE FOLLOWING HOURS:
9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
An application to receive a food card can be picked up at 802 N. 5th Street, and the food card lasts about 8 months.
EACH FOOD BOX TYPICALLY CONTAINS A MIX OF NON-PERISHABLES, MEATS, PRECOOKED ITEMS, FRESH PRODUCE, BREADS, AND SWEETS.
While we purchase some items from the Kansas Food Bank at discounted rates, most of our inventory comes from generous community donations, food drives, and Feeding America pick-ups at Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, and Target. Both of the Dillons’ locations in town donate bread and sweets as well.
